The Chartered Accountants Cork Society held their Annual Christmas Lunch in Maryborough House Hotel on Friday 4th December last. Approximately 250 people representing a cross section of some of the most significant business sectors in the local economy as well as practices of all sizes attended. The seasonal spirit was kicked off with a mulled wine reception. After lunch guest speaker Ivan Yates, entrepreneur, broadcaster and former politician easily entertained the audience in his own unique style.
Amongst the distinguished guests who were in attendance were The Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Dara Murphy, Lady Mayoress Tanya Murphy, Chief Executive of Chartered Accountants Ireland, Pat Costello and Chief Executive of Cork Chamber Conor Healy.
Addressing the gathering, Cork Society Chairperson, Sean Pierse (abm Financial Advisors) highlighted the achievements of the organisation over the last 12 months. Acknowledging the challenging times that we find ourselves in Sean went on to say that “As Chartered Accountants, I believe that we have the necessary skills to identify, communicate and help resolve the problems currently being faced by Irish businesses”.
Local charity, Edel House were delighted to again this year benefit from the generosity of those attending in our annual toy collection.
