Sean Pierse Elected to Remain on as CSCA Chairman

Sean Pierse, ACA, has been elected to remain on as Chairman of the Cork Society of Chartered Accountants. Sean of ABM Financial Advisors was elected at the Society’s AGM held on Thursday 21st May in The Kiln, Heineken Ireland. Adrian Ryan, ACA, of Premier retains the office of Hon. Secretary to the Society.

The Cork Society of Chartered Accountants is a District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ireland’s oldest and largest professional accountancy body with almost 14,000 members.

Addressing the AGM, Chairman Sean Pierse outlined the many successful events held by the CSCA during the past twelve months, including the Annual Christmas Lunch, the Annual Daffodil Day Breakfast Briefing which raised in excess of €12,000 and of course the various CPD events throughout the year. 2008 also saw the introduction of a number of new networking and social events for members including the Ladies evening with Brown Thomas.

Sean went on to thank the ICAI, the voluntary committee and Regional Development Co-Ordinator Mary Rose Desmond for their involvement and help in organising such a successful calendar of events and the many sponsors who have given their support to such events.
